Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) create much of the cultural mecca in Cambridge, MA, located across the Charles River from Boston. Cambridge's culture goes well beyond those two renowned institutions, however, with an always growing -- and changing -- arts and music scene. The Longy School of Music has served as an integral part of the Boston area's music scene since 1915 with a dedicated mission to classic conservatory education. What that means for you is many free concerts with established and on-the-rise musicians. Some concerts are not free, however, but still are at a reasonable price.
